Welcome, I am Vincent Parker
I photograph landscapes, people, and the occasional building, mostly close to home in Colorado. However far apart those sound, I am chasing the same thing in each one: a shape against open sky, a path that pulls you in, a person set properly in the place they belong. Lately I have been shooting more black and white film. I love to develop, scan, and print everything I can myself.

Everything Starts With the Frame

Before anything else, I am deciding what the subject is set against. Sky, an empty wall, a soft wash of green. Once that is settled, the rest is placement: where the line runs, how deep the eye travels, what stays out. A photograph that works as a shape will work at any size, and one that does not cannot be rescued later. I would rather come back with two frames I meant to make than forty to sort through.

Photos & FRAMES
For when life will not hold still.
LANDSCAPE
Colorado mostly, and wherever else I can get to. I am looking for structure in a place: a line that pulls you through it, a shape held against open sky. Available as prints in sizes up to 13 x 19.
PORTRAITS
I photograph people on location, wide enough that the place is part of the picture. If somewhere means something to you, that is where we should go. Sessions booked directly through the site.
On Real FILM
From color to black and white, 35mm to medium format, ten to 36 frames to a roll. I love to develop, scan, and print every one myself. It is slower, it is unforgiving, and it has made everything else I shoot better.
